The Austrian Advances Lightweight Technology A2LT brings together the expertise of Austrian companies and research centres on the subject of lightweight engineering. Independent of industry and materials, these cooperations create innovations that exceed the potential of the individual platform members.
Nowhere else in the world is there such a dense geographical concentration of relevant companies and infrastructure for effective networking activities as in Upper Austria. This has led to the foundation of the Smart Plastics Initiative. Universities, colleges, enterprises and research institutions across the various disciplines, within the dynamic domain of intelligent electronic plastics, are now invited to join the network.

The initiative „Connected Mobility - The smart future“ (ICM) is a hub founded by the Automotive Cluster and the IT Cluster of the Business Upper Austria (Upper Austrian Business Agency). The initiative addresses both companies from the IT as well as the automotive industry in order to develop mobility solutions and services with suitable cooperation partners. Its aim is to develop new profitable business models, new projects and new services in the field of innovative mobility solutions in a cross-border way in order to strengthen the Austrian economy.
The plastics industry has a long tradition in Upper Austria at the same time as being a high-tech sector with a sound future. It offers young people many exciting opportunities to choose a profession with very good career and earning prospects. With the Plastics location Upper Austria initiative, Business Upper Austria offers young people and stakeholders in the plastics sector a platform for networking.
Mechatronics is an Upper Austrian core competence - as well as a key component of Upper Austrian industry. Several hundred companies in industry and business as well as research, development and training centres in Upper Austria operate in this sector. With the Mechatronics location Upper Austria initiative, Business Upper Austria offers stakeholders in the mechatronics sector a platform for networking.
Kompass is the competence centre for parental leave and careers and the main point of contact for companies in Upper Austria concerning women and work. Working together with the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Women's Group of the Government of Upper Austria, Kompass has been initiating projects in support of combining private life and professional life since 2011.
